The residential real estate market is beginning to thrive in the High Desert once again and one development site in particular has renewed life. On Bear Valley Road, west of Highway 395 the public home builder, DR Horton, has transformed an abandoned residential development site into a beautiful new neighborhood. The housing tract initially started in 2008 but building was stopped abruptly and existing homes were demolished in 2009 when the economy was hit by the Great Recession. Fast-forward to today, 2018, the development is breathing new life. More than 50 homes are already underway, in various stages of construction and the project will yield up to 334 new homes upon completion.
